About Us

ABOUT US

Off the Wheel Pottery is located just outside the village of Egg Harbor, WI. This tourist destination, best known as Door County, is located on a peninsula that is surrounded by the bay of Green Bay and Lake Michigan. It is referred to as the Cape Cod of the Midwest with its beautiful harbors, rolling meadows with abundant wildlife, gorgeous sunsets, unique shops and galleries, great restaurants, music, and theater.

Most of Renee's (resident potter) inspiration comes from the beauty that sits just outside her window. The wildflowers in the untouched fields, the dragonflies and hummingbirds buzzing around in the gardens, the trees, and old stone fence pile that sits along the old farmer's field. The galleries are housed in the old timber-framed barn and granary. The studio is in a newer building nestled next to the granary. This is where resident potter, Renee Schwaller makes all of her work. The gallery shows her work along with over twenty local, regional and national artists. All of the work shown at Off the Wheel is original and made by hand.

Our mission is to offer the public original handmade work, by amazing potters/artists in a unique, natural, comfortable setting. Stop by our barn gallery, the little granary gallery, and our working studio from 10-4 Monday through Saturday, May through October. We are closed on Sunday's for sanity and relaxation. We hope you enjoy your visit!

Granary Gallery and Studio

The working studio is a newer building (to the left) and the granary gallery is a small timber framed, 100+ year old farm building where we feature pots from local, regional and national potters.

The Barn Gallery and Workspace

A portion of the 100+ year old timber framed barn showcases resident potter, Reneé Schwaller's work and the work of many other potters/artists. The other half of the barn is used for glaze mixing, shipping and storage.
